This post was developed in partnership with Similac. All opinions are my own.
I enjoy making baby food from scratch, but like most mothers, I don’t always have the time. Jar food works, but what’s more convenient than a pouch!? They’re easy to use whether you’re at home or on the go. I make sure to keep a couple in our diaper bag at all times.
As you all know, I breastfeed and supplement with formula. Similac is our go-to brand, but somehow I missed the memo that they also make pouches. As soon as I discovered Go & Grow by Similac Pouches, I was excited to try them out. My eight month old son, Marshall, often enjoys eating purées more than drinking from bottles or even breastfeeding. As such, I have to make sure the food he eats is nutritious enough to support his physical and mental development. Go & Grow by Similac Pouches are certified USDA Organic, Non-GMO, contain no fillers, colors or artificial flavors, and are gluten free. Each pouch has 3-4 servings of combined fruits and veggies, which is at least 1/3 the daily recommended serving for a toddler. Woohoo!
Go & Grow by Similac Pouches are available at Walmart on the baby food aisle, or you can order them online, here.
We tried them out last week and Marshall loved them! He kept going back for more, and any time Momo came near him with a pouch, he would lean his face towards her with an open mouth. It was too cute!
His favorite flavor was Pear-Blueberry-Spinach.
The only one he made a face at was the Pumpkin-Banana-Carrot, probably because he’s never tried anything with Pumpkin in it. Even still, he ended up eating the whole thing!
Go & Grow by Similac Pouches are the only toddler fruit and veggie purée pouches with OptiGRO, which is a brain and eye nourishing blend of DHA, Lutein, and Vitamin E in forms similar to common foods.
DHA – Like that found in fish, for brain development.
Lutein – Like that found in spinach, for eye health.
Vitamin E – Like that found in broccoli, for growth and development.
They also come in two age groups, each with their own set of flavors:
Babies 6 months and up:
(The maximum amount of Go & Grow by Similac Pouches for babies under 12 months is one pouch per day.)
Toddlers 12 months and up:
(The appropriate amount of Go & Grow by Similac Pouches for a toddler is between one and three pouches, with a daily maximum of three.)
So far Marshall will eat pretty much anything we give him, but I know many parents have a hard time getting their children to eat nutritious foods. For the mamas out there who struggle to get their picky toddlers to eat, Go & Grow by Similac Pouches are the perfect way to squeeze [ba-dum-tss] more fruits and veggies into their day! It can be difficult to convince your toddler to eat sometimes, but these are tasty and will help fill the gap until they start showing more interest in their fruits and vegetables. I hope you find this recommendation helpful!
