Christmas came early this year for Marshall! Incredibundles sent over a box of toys for us to review, and you guys. He. Was. Stoked!
This post was developed in partnership with Incredibundles. All opinions are my own. And I think Marshall’s face speaks for itself. Blurry, but stinkin’ adorable. Look how excited he is!
If you haven’t heard of Incredibundles, they’re awesome. The company offers all kinds of different gift bundles for babies, from necessities (like diapers and bath essentials), to books and toys. The toys are broken up into age groups, which is super convenient. You can even create your own bundles, full of specific items that you pick out. And maybe it’s just me, but I love cute packaging. Send me something in the mail in a cute reusable box with a little silk bow on top, and I’m already sold!
The set I chose for Marshall is called the Toddler Play & Learn Bundle. He just turned one, so I’m not sure if he quite qualifies as a toddler yet, but with his constant tantrums and lack of interest in his baby toys, I decided to jump ahead to the toddler items. And I’m so glad I did!
This particular bundle came with 3 big gifts:
- Classic ABC/123 Wooden Blocks (Melissa & Doug)
- Colorful Wooden Shape Sorter (Hape)
- Wood Tone Slit Drum (Hohner)
What is it about wooden toys that make them so awesome? I know why I love them – If I have to hear the same little jingle from one of Marshall’s noisy toys again, I may just throw them in the trash. What’s interesting to me is that Marshall chooses these wooden toys over the loud, obnoxious ones, every time. I let him open these gifts a couple of weeks ago, and he’s been hooked ever since. The loud, flashy basketball hoop we bought for his birthday remains in mint condition because he’s just not into it.
All of the products came in perfect condition, and they’re all super well-made. Marshall’s been banging them around and they still haven’t shown any signs of wear and tear. I’m thoroughly impressed!
The shape sorter was a bit too advanced for him at the moment, but he still loves the little shapes that fit inside. Each one has beads that jingle when you shake them, and one of the sides is clear so you can see through to the middle. So, while he’s mostly just jingling the shapes for now, he’ll soon get the idea and I’m sure he’ll love playing with this one.
The wooden blocks were definitely his favorite. He crawls all over the house with one in each hand, and if you try to give him more, he just keeps grabbing them until his arms are full! It’s the cutest thing ever.
His obsession with the blocks makes it easy for me to start working on color and letter recognition. There are also pictures of other things on the sides, from fruit to animals.
I can tell that these are going to be around for a long time. For now, he likes for me to stack them up into tall towers so he can crash them down. Soon enough, he’ll be making his own towers!
The wooden drum – My personal favorite! Maybe it’s just the musician in me that desperately wants Marshall to be interested in musical instruments, but I can’t get enough of this little drum. Though it wasn’t quite as big of a hit as the wooden blocks (if you’ll notice, he’s still holding one while he plays the drum), he does enjoy it! Unfortunately, since we’re still unpacking from our big move, I didn’t get any shots of him with the drumstick. Lord only knows where that thing is. I hope it turns up soon though because he has a lot of fun playing with it! Until I find it buried at the bottom of a box, along with Marshall’s day clothes (let’s be real – you totally noticed that it’s midday and M is in jammies), he’s been content using the blocks to bang on the drum. As hard as he hits, I’m surprised the thing hasn’t fallen apart, honestly. Like I said, these toys seem to be built for rough little boys.
I’m really impressed with Incredibundles. Their name is truly fitting. You all know I only write reviews on products that I genuinely love, but this is one of the best companies I’ve had the pleasure of working with so far. It’s amazing that we’re able to send such awesome gifts to family all over the world, without buying the items, wrapping them ourselves, taking them to the post office, etc. Incredibundles allows you to pick out specific items if you want to, but the fact that they have bundles that are already put together and ready to ship, makes it so easy to show the little ones in your life some love from afar. One of my moms friends delivered her baby today, and I can’t wait to send a bundle their way for Christmas. I’ll probably even order another one for Marshall in a few months. I’ll tell everyone it was for Marshall, but between the adorable reusable box and the toys that don’t sing randomly in the middle of the night, it’s really a gift for me.
Head on over to my Instagram page tomorrow, December 1, 2017 where I’ll be hosting a GIVEAWAY! I’m partnering with Incredibundles again to bring one of my readers a $50 gift card to purchase their very own bundle! You get to choose which one of course! Go ahead, do a little dance and get excited! And while you get pumped up, check out Incredibundles.com to figure out which bundle you’d like to get the little one in your life.
‘Tis the season, y’all! I’m feeling good about this giveaway, and though only one person can win, I wish you all good luck! If you win, I’d love it if you posted a pic of your little guy or gal with their new stuff, and don’t forget to tag me and @incredibundles_babygifts. It’s not mandatory at all, I just love seeing cute babies!
